I am Head of Practice Area for the Commercial sector, having joined Brethertons in 1995. I advise customers on matters ranging from standard trading terms to business acquisitions and sales.
I qualified as a solicitor in 1983 and have had experience of working for the European Commission in Brussels as well as working as an in-house lawyer for Toshiba and other companies.
I have handled hundreds of sales and purchases of businesses and I feel particularly comfortable in the IT sector because of the in-house experience I have had previously. I’m a “recommended” lawyer in the 2014 edition of the Legal 500 as well as having been described as heading a “superb” team.
As a father of 4 (and soon to be grandfather) my parental duties still take up a substantial part of my free time. I would say my escape is exercise when, on a daily basis, I fight a losing battle to stay in reasonable shape, swimming being my preferred activity.
